Oh my gosh! It seems like war and murder are the order of the day, judging by last night's TV and today's radio reports. It appears that the world is at war with itself. The theme that mankind is living is WAR, hatred, intolerance and more hatred, revenge, bitterness and unforgiveness.
The news reader on 'Five FM' this morning reported how proud Jacob Zuma is of his troops who have just been to war in North Africa. He gave his encouragement and blessing to those who so bravely gave their lives for the CAUSE.
What is the cause? What is it we are fighting? Who are we fighting? Are we still in medieval times? Seriously now. How has mankind evolved in the last few centuries?
Highway robberies have been replaced by car hijackings and motes and castles have been replaced with high security estates and electric fences.
We haven't evolved spiritually. The only thing that has evolved is the sophistication of our weaponry. We are murdering each others brothers and sisters. We are murdering ourselves.
We, humanity, need to wake up and feel. This is crazy. Billions and billions are spent each year as our governments allocate exorbitant funds for the purchase of weapons.
It is time that we STOP. Put down the guns. Stop this endless, repetitive and futile waste of human life; this never ending 'you hurt me so I'll hurt you' cycle.
Imagine if we spent all those allocated funds on propagating love, on teaching others compassion, on helping the have-nots with basic necessities like food and shelter.
Imagine a world in which we spend our resources on building a kinder more loving environment out of love, rather than amassing protection for ourselves and slaying those in our midst.
We need to press the pause button on our lives and close our eyes. We need to go within and ask ourselves how we could better serve humanity with the resources we have got. We need to take a moment and dream for ourselves a new dream.
It is time and it is possible. We need to teach love by being examples of love to our children, siblings, parents, friends and strangers. We need to draw on our inner reserves of love and compassion.
Now is the time to open our hearts and dream a new dream. Now is the time to kiss the wounds and step up to the plate and say: "No more fighting. It stops with ME." We need to release ourselves from our past judgements. We need to forgive ourselves our bitterness and our past hurts to self and others.
It is up to each one of us to make a stand and end the war. We need to stop the conflict in our personal lives with ourselves, our partners, our friends, our co-workers and those whom we don't even know, but have so many judgements towards.
We need to become conscious that every other being on this planet is like us. We all want to feel safe, loved and free of suffering. So why continue to make others suffer? We must be the love we want to feel. We must be the compassion we want to receive. We must be stewards of love. We must sow kind words of encouragement. We must start to share what we have and stop hoarding for ourselves.
It is time humanity. Dare to dream a new dream. Imagine a world in which our intent is for others to not suffer. Imagine our resources and taxes being shared amongst those in need. Imagine children being cared for and protected. Imagine a world which understands one another and encourages each other's differences. Imagine my sole concern being for your greater good and yours for mine.
The world is dependent on you and me. Let's change our hearts and dream this dream.
Together let's heal our world!
