Today my
heart is overflowing with joy. I received this gift of photos from one of my
readers. Thank you for gifting me, not with a bouquet of cut flowers, but with
the whole meadow… the whole countryside. I feel so rich… Gifts of gold and
gemstones don’t come close to satiating me with feelings of gratitude and awe
at the magnificence of God’s creation.
A whole month has passed since I last wrote to
you and I can share that I really missed you all. I have had my head down
whilst I have been creating a corporate exercise video which I will be
releasing to the public shortly.
I was also privileged to spend ten whole days
on a silent retreat in Worcester studying
Buddha’s Vipassana meditation.
There I learned the importance of viewing life objectively, as it is, without attaching myself to the little dramas by developing feelings of aversion or craving. I feel so blessed to have been gifted with the course which is run by volunteers. I was afforded the freedom of a child as all my needs were catered for. All I needed to do was show up and stay for the duration of the ten days.
What liberation I have experienced from the teaching which has brought me all the tools
I need to access my truth. However, it is not sufficient to garner all the head
knowledge. It is up to me to take the steps and walk my newly acquired talk.
Now
that I am home in Johannesburg the practice has just begun.
Twice daily I
practice a one-hour meditation which is helping me to focus and set into action
the life purpose I took birth for.
A great part of me pines for the
mountains, the simplicity, the peace and the freedom which I accessed in
Worcester. I guess I am exhibiting my humanness and my natural ability to
develop cravings, something we all do so well. But for now I am committed to
walking my path by taking each new step each day and doing what it takes to
make this world, our world a better place.
So, today,
dear reader give yourself the gift of compassion and see yourself as you are,
in all your humanness and all your vulnerability. See yourself and your life as the gift they are.
I wish you
love from the heart
Nicolette
