Silly Season

“I endeavour to be my best, to do my best and always uncompromisingly give of my best.”

As we enter the silliest of seasons, throw off the work clothes and don our swim suits or comfy slops and tee shirts, we are so eager to drop the masks we have been showing the world. We reach for comforts, for relaxation and sometimes the ridiculous as a welcome reprieve from the stress and highly demanding pace we have been sustaining for the past 11 months.

This is our time to nurture and self-love. This is our time to do whatever we choose.

Whether you snooze or play or shoot the breeze, you will be faced with an array of choices. Some of you may choose to blow off the stresses with extreme, adrenaline sports whilst others of you may choose cocktails and loungers and long afternoon naps.

Whatever your preference I wish to encourage you to make your choices with kindness and respect for your physical body. You only have one body and it is irreplaceable in this lifetime, so please consider it carefully when you are faced with the smorgasbord of choices that life offers you.

Remember, you will reap in 2015 what you sow in this silly season. Whatever addictive behaviour you succumb to this December, you will be wrestling with as you try and impose your will once again in the New Year.

I wish you a happy, fun-filled and wholesome holiday with special friends and family, lots of quality naps and recreation, and loads of amazing healthful fresh fruits whilst they abound.

Be safe
Observe the speed limit
Consume alcohol in moderation
Get plenty of sleep
Drink but don’t drive
Spend time with loved ones
Be vigilant
Eat plenty of fresh produce
Consume lots of water
Wear sunscreen
But most important of all, HAVE FUN!

Be your best this silly season and I look forward to catching up with you in the New Year

All my love
Nicolette

FORGIVENESS = FREEDOM

“I have walked a long walk to freedom. It has been a long road, but it is not over yet. I know that my country was not meant to be a land of hatred. No one is born hating another because of the colour of his skin. People learn to hate. They can be taught to love. For love comes more naturally to the human heart.”
-  Nelson Mandela

We must keep Nelson Mandela’s legacy alive, by living his incredible wisdom. Self-love, gratitude and forgiveness are a teachable skill. We do not have to succumb to the conditioned practises of those who came before us. We are a new rainbow generation. We are leaders in the field of forgiveness. There is not another nation on this planet that has managed to quell the desire for revenge and transform suspicion and fear into respect and compassion. And it is all thanks to our amazing Madiba.

Today, I wish to pay homage to the great leader that Madiba was and continues to be, even though he has passed on to another level of consciousness.

We all have love in our hearts. It is our inherent nature. Don’t let anyone deceive you into believing otherwise. You are LOVE. You are made out of love in LOVE’S likeness.

Don’t become entrapped by your ego’s obsession with your physical body and material experiences. You are Spirit and our spirit is ONE. We are all connected to our Source/Creator through our indestructible spiritual selves.

When we entertain the thought that we are an isolated, solitary person, fear, anxiety and suspicion arise in us. Fear is the playground of our egos.

Our strength, as a people, lies in our unity, so let’s stand together, united in Spirit and LOVE. Let love melt the fear in your heart.

We, the nation of South Africa, have only just scratched the surface of our incredible worth as transformative leaders of peace.

Our road to freedom is not over yet, but we are well on the way. Let’s persevere and dig deep within our hearts.

Love and forgiveness are our power and there is no greater freedom than that.

Amandla!

From my heart
